Busy days help keep me distracted from the gloomy weather and ominous decisions that are coming soon. It has been snowing for days and it is now May. I am ready for some sunshine!

I see the colorectal surgeon on Tuesday. I will be praying desperately that he will say that my ostomy is reversible.

I am doing my best to embrace the ostomy for the benefits of it but at the same time struggle desperately to want to be able to wear jeans or a swim suit especially with summer coming. It has been nearly the hardest part of this whole journey.

I also just had to get on Thyroid meds because my thyroid has decided to go a little crazy. If it’s not one problem it’s the next. At least this one is a bio identical instead of a pharmaceutical and it isn’t horribly expensive.

I have had several very kind donations lately. A couple boxes of ostomy bags and one of the purses sold on ebay! Thanks to all who have done so much. Hopefully this ostomy expense will be gone soon and that will help tremendously.

I’m spending today cleaning our house and getting ready to do some hair for prom. I love to do formal hair and makeup! Should be fun.

Today was just ok. I find myself pretty tired the last few days but I’m hanging in there. Having Darick away is hard some times. I have the girls and the chores all to my self. I like not having to cook a big dinner every night and not having to get dressed or put makeup on if I don’t want to. Despite having to take both the girls to school and take out the trash, the house does stay a lot cleaner without boys tromping through everyday. I might even consider recovering my kitchen chairs again since I get a break from dirty boys sitting on them.

It’s so expensive to “live” I am so grateful to EVERYONE. I spend about $1000 a month on doctor visits (urine tests, blood tests, and counseling with Dr. Mark) Then about $200 on supplements and $400 on ostomy supplies, not to mention organic foods, traveling to Boise and back. I don’t know how to thank everyone for helping. I truly could not get the care I need without you all! I also appreciate those of you who encourage me!

I have met so many amazing people throughout this journey and have found out that some of the friendships I counted on aren’t as good as I thought as well. Going through something like this has really made me evaluate several things in my life. I realize that “you get what you give” and that “you teach what you allow” relationship wise. It’s time for me to make some changes in my friend circles, to stop worrying if everyone likes me, and to trust those whom have earned it. its a good place to be.
