I just got back from my first run in over 6 months. It wasn’t long or fast but it felt great. I could hear my heart beating and my breathing increase. Those are little things that make you feel alive. I ran for about 20 minutes and it reminded me of the little things you miss when you “can’t.” When I think about the fact that about 6 weeks ago I could hardly sit up or keep food down and now to be able to go for a little jog feels like such an accomplishment. I have a long way to go to get back to where I was but it will come. I am hoping to start back at crossfit tomorrow doing just light workouts. I think strength can only help you get through surgeries and tough days and I’m sure there are still a few of those ahead.
